ClickUp Integration

Track time in Timesheet and see it in ClickUp. Your hours land as ClickUp time entries on the right task, and your todos become tasks in the lists you pick.

Visit WebsitePro plan and above

ClickUp holds the plan. Timesheet records the hours, with timers on iOS, Android, the web, and the browser extension. Connect the two and the time you track shows up in ClickUp as time entries on the right task, without anyone logging it twice.

Your hours, next to the plan

Project leads live in ClickUp. Your team tracks time wherever the work happens: on a phone between site visits, in the browser, or with a timer on the desktop. Timesheet writes every finished entry into ClickUp with its description, start and end, and billable flag, so actual hours sit next to the estimate on the task.

Estimates travel too. A time estimate on a Timesheet todo becomes the time estimate of its ClickUp task.

Reports, billing rates, invoices, and exports stay in Timesheet, where they work across all your projects and not only the ones in ClickUp.

What syncs

Timesheet to ClickUp

  • Tracked time becomes a ClickUp time entry, attached to the task when the entry belongs to a synced todo
  • Edits and deletes are sent automatically; a running timer syncs once you stop it
  • New todos appear as tasks in the mapped list, with description, due date, status, and time estimate
  • Completing a todo closes the task, and deleting a todo deletes it

ClickUp to Timesheet

  • Select Sync Now to bring ClickUp tasks in as todos you can track against, including subtasks and closed tasks
  • Names, descriptions, due dates, and status come along, and with mapped members, the assignees too

ClickUp changes reach Timesheet when you select Sync Now, not on their own. Time logged directly in ClickUp stays in ClickUp: Timesheet sends hours to ClickUp, it does not import them.

Before you start

  • A ClickUp workspace.
  • A Timesheet Pro plan or above. The 30-day trial includes it. See plans and pricing.
  • Access to the ClickUp lists you want to sync.

Connect it

In the Timesheet web app, open Integrations, select Browse Marketplace, and install ClickUp. Select Connect, sign in to ClickUp, and authorize access. The connection uses OAuth, so Timesheet never sees your ClickUp password.

Then map your projects. On the Mappings tab, pick a ClickUp list for each Timesheet project; lists appear with their workspace, space, and folder. Only mapped projects sync, so you can start with one team and add more later. On paid ClickUp plans, mapping your team members as well books each person's time under their own ClickUp account.

Choose your direction

The Sync Direction setting offers three options:

  • bidirectional sends your todos and hours to ClickUp and brings ClickUp tasks in with Sync Now.
  • timesheet-to-clickup pushes todos and tracked time out and ignores changes made in ClickUp.
  • clickup-to-timesheet brings tasks in to track against, without writing anything back.

Good to know

  • Entries in a mapped project that are not linked to a synced todo are recorded in the ClickUp workspace without a task.
  • Timesheet sets ClickUp tasks to open or closed. Keep statuses named open and closed in each synced list, or ClickUp may reject the todo.
  • Projects are not created from ClickUp lists. Each Timesheet project is mapped to a list once.
  • Tags, notes, and rates stay in Timesheet.
