Grok Integration

Add Timesheet to Grok as a custom MCP connector and start timers, log work, and check your hours in the same conversation.

Visit WebsiteDocumentationPro plan and above

Timesheet publishes a hosted Model Context Protocol server, so Grok can start timers, log work, and answer questions about your hours without you leaving the chat.

What you can ask for

  • "Start a timer for the website redesign project"
  • "How many hours did I track this week, by project?"
  • "Log two hours of client calls for yesterday afternoon"
  • "Export last month as a PDF"
  • "Request vacation for next Friday"

Before you start

  • A Timesheet Pro plan or above. See plans and pricing.
  • A Grok account. Connectors are available to all Grok users. In Grok Business and Enterprise, a team admin first provisions the connector for the organization.

Connect

  1. Open grok.com/connectors.
  2. Select New Connector, then Custom.
  3. Enter the server URL below, then sign in to Timesheet and approve access when Grok asks.
https://mcp.timesheet.io

The server publishes its OAuth metadata at /.well-known/oauth-protected-resource, so Grok finds the sign-in on its own. Grok then reads the tools the server offers and uses them in your conversations.

What Grok can reach

  • Timer: start, stop, pause, resume, status, update
  • Tasks: create, update, delete, list, plus notes, expenses, and breaks
  • Projects: create, update, delete, list, and details
  • Reports and exports: documents, task and expense reports, PDF output, Excel and CSV exports, and saved export templates
  • Absences: request, approve, reject, cancel, and list
  • Statistics: summaries over any period

Good to know

  • Access is granted to your own account only. The server cannot reach other users' private data or change your billing.
  • Revoke access at any time from your Timesheet account, or by removing the connector in Grok.
  • The connection uses OAuth, so Grok never sees your Timesheet password.

Key Features

  • Hosted MCP server with built-in OAuth discovery
  • No API key to paste, you sign in to Timesheet instead
  • Timers, projects, tasks, notes, expenses, and breaks
  • Reports, exports, and statistics in the same conversation
  • Absence requests and approvals for Business plans
  • Works alongside the Timesheet mobile and web apps
