How the Pomodoro Technique works
Pick a task. Set the timer for 25 minutes. Work on the task with full focus until the timer rings. Take a 5-minute break. Repeat. After 4 focus blocks, take a longer 15-30 minute break. The structure protects deep work from interruptions and gives your attention regular recovery.
Why it works
Knowing you only have to focus for 25 minutes lowers the activation cost of starting hard work. Knowing you have a guaranteed break removes the temptation to interrupt yourself. Tracking how many blocks you complete each day turns vague "I worked all day" into a concrete number you can plan against.
From sessions to tracked time
If you want to know not just how many Pomodoros you finished but which projects and tasks they went to, Timesheet logs every session with the work you assigned to it, so a year of focus blocks becomes a real analytics dashboard.
