Tired of doing this by hand?

Timesheet tracks your hours automatically across iOS, Android, and the web, and turns them into invoices, exports, and reports. Free plan, no credit card required.

How the Pomodoro Technique works

Pick a task. Set the timer for 25 minutes. Work on the task with full focus until the timer rings. Take a 5-minute break. Repeat. After 4 focus blocks, take a longer 15-30 minute break. The structure protects deep work from interruptions and gives your attention regular recovery.

Why it works

Knowing you only have to focus for 25 minutes lowers the activation cost of starting hard work. Knowing you have a guaranteed break removes the temptation to interrupt yourself. Tracking how many blocks you complete each day turns vague "I worked all day" into a concrete number you can plan against.

From sessions to tracked time

If you want to know not just how many Pomodoros you finished but which projects and tasks they went to, Timesheet logs every session with the work you assigned to it, so a year of focus blocks becomes a real analytics dashboard.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Pomodoro Technique?
A time-management method developed by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s. You work in 25-minute focused blocks separated by short breaks, with a longer break every fourth block. The discipline of switching helps prevent burnout and sustains concentration.
Can I change the lengths?
Yes. The defaults are 25 / 5 / 15 minutes, but you can adjust each to anywhere from 1 to 120 minutes. Some people prefer 50 / 10 for deep work; others use 15 / 3 for short tasks.
Does it work in the background?
The countdown keeps running while the tab is open. If you switch tabs or minimise the window, modern browsers may throttle the timer. For reliable background timing, the Timesheet mobile app uses native timers.
Does it make a sound when the timer ends?
Not in this version. The current cycle and remaining time are shown clearly on screen. For audible alerts and notifications, use the full Timesheet app.
