What this calculator does
Enter an hourly rate and the calculator shows you the equivalent weekly, monthly, and annual salary. Enter an annual salary and it shows the equivalent hourly rate. Both directions use the same two assumptions: hours per week and working weeks per year.
Why the assumptions matter
A "40-hour, 52-week" year gives the cleanest hourly-to-salary conversion. If you take 4 weeks of PTO, use 48 weeks to compare against an actually-worked annual salary. Adjust both fields to fit your contract.
For negotiations and offers
This calculator is handy when comparing a salaried offer against your current freelance rate, or when budgeting after a contract changes. For accurate after-tax comparisons, use a country-specific net-salary calculator from your tax authority.
